Your manager Slacks you at 4:55pm: "I need these quarterly numbers as slides for tomorrow's board meeting."
Presentations. The deliverable is a deck. The pptx skill triggers on anything slide-shaped - decks, presentations, .pptx files in or out. The numbers may come FROM a spreadsheet, but what leaves your laptop tonight is slides.
You have last quarter's pitch deck. The story is right, but 8 of 20 slides need new numbers and two sections must swap order.
Presentations. Editing an EXISTING deck - updating slides, reordering sections - is still pptx: the skill triggers whenever a .pptx is touched, not just created. The new numbers might live in a spreadsheet, but the file being operated on is the deck.
The conference gave you their .potx template. Your talk must use their layouts, their fonts, their title slides - with your content.
Presentations. .potx is a PowerPoint template, and working WITH templates and layouts is explicitly in the pptx skill's trigger list. This is template-constrained deck building, not free-form design - which is why canvas-design tempts and misses.
